Stone Mountain, Georgia offers an eclectic mix of accommodations – something to suit everyone’s taste and budget. The State Park features two excellent resort hotels. The first is situated in a quiet location with magnificent views of Stone Mountain. This particular inn is a replica of a 19th century plantation full of Old South antebellum charm. It includes an onsite restaurant, outdoor swimming pool; superior appointed rooms, a small ballroom and two meeting rooms. The other inn features 92 rooms decorated in a colonial style and sits right in the middle of the park. It offers a Southern-style restaurant, meeting rooms, and is just steps away from Stone Mountain’s exciting attractions such as the laser show, The Great Barn and Crossroads. This inn is available for weddings and many people find it a quaint, charming place to hold their ceremony and reception.

In the village of Stone Mountain are two beautiful bed & breakfast inns. One is a carefully preserved, yet updated inn from the 1820s nestled in the heart of Stone Mountain Village. It features six guestrooms, fireplaces, full Southern-style breakfast, cable TV, telephones, and whirlpool tubs in all rooms. The other inn is a family owned and operated reproduction of a Southern Plantation. All the rooms in this inn come with private baths, 3 have Jacuzzis, and there is a swimming pool and spa on the premises. If you prefer staying in a more family-oriented hotel or motel, the Stone Mountain region has many to choose from. Located just 3 miles from the Park is a hotel that is part of a well-known national chain that offers tastefully decorated rooms with full amenities to suit many different tastes. Staying in the city of Atlanta is another option, which is just a short ten or fifteen minute drive from Stone Mountain Park. Atlanta’s tourism rate is one of the highest in the country, and many of their hotels are award winning. You’ll find summer specials and discount rates, budget friendly motels, elegant hotels and inns, historic bed & breakfasts and more. Atlanta’s upscale downtown area has been called the “Beverly Hills of the East,” and offers a hub of fine hotels, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. You can enjoy all the sights and sounds of the city, and easily make Stone Mountain a fun day trip.

If you enjoy camping, Stone Mountain has a 45-acre private campground located within the State Park on the east side of Stone Mountain. It offers 38 sites for tents, 44 RV sites and 54 sites for tents/RVs. Most of the sites are shaded, a few border on the lake. Amenities in the campground include a children’s playground, laundry facilities, dump station and flush toilets. Maximum stay is fourteen nights, and there is a one-time fee to enter. The tent camping section is closed October – early March. Whether you prefer to rough it by camping in the wilderness, surrounded by gorgeous mountain scenery, or if your tastes run more towards luxurious pampering, Stone Mountain has what you need to make your vacation a fun-filled, relaxing getaway.
